TEHRAN In a session attended by the top judicial officials Monday, Judiciary Head Ayatollah Seyed Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi said the law should be the basis for any reform move in the country.
Referring to the letter addressed recently by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei to the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) and the clever move by Majlis Speaker Mahdi Karrubi toward the daily issues, Ayatollah Shahroudi said the Muslim people of Iran expect the officials and MPs to try to solve the problems facing the society and to help promote unification and solidarity among the society members.
The Judiciary head further said the Iranians achieved the victory in the Iraqi-imposed war thanks to the invaluable directives given by the Leader while saying that the enemies of revolution attempt to fan the flames of discord in the country so as to find a way to achieve their evil aims.
Stressing the need for reforms in the country, the official pointed out that as the Leader had previously cautioned the nature of the revolution necessitates reformation now more than ever but one should be careful that the reforms be carried out in the best possible way.
The enemies of the revolution are opposed to the true reforms in the country, he noted, adding that the officials have to make sure that the reforms are done based on the Islamic instructions and principles.
